Yale 3 Series
David Swensen - Chief Investment Officer
Please join some of the biggest stars of the financial and investment community at the Yale Club of New York City on Wednesday, Nov. 8, as the Classes of ’79, ’80 and ’81 kick off an innovative series of exclusive, annual mini-reunions.
We’ve dubbed these events “The Yale 3-Series,” as the three classes, over the next three years, gather to explore subjects of broad interest during the run-up to our 30th Reunions. Events will be limited to members of the classes and their guests.
This inaugural gathering features a high-powered panel discussion moderated by David Swensen, the chief investment officer of Yale. He’s been described by Fortune magazine as “one of the most successful moneymen of our age who has built one of the most spectacular investment records on the planet. With a focus on Alternative Assets – Trends and Opportunities, the program will address such key questions as: Where will all the money go? What are the expected returns for different asset classes? Will top performers be able to stay on top? Can university endowment teams continue to generate double-digit rates of return? And more.
Our distinguished panelists, who all hail from the participating classes, constitute a remarkable assemblage of talent. These financial leaders include:
James A. Atwood, Jr., The Carlyle Group – New York, NY.
Matthew Barger, Hellman & Friedman, LLC – San Francisco, CA.
Jim “Doc” Chanos, Kynikos Associates – New York, NY.
Jane Mendillo, Wellesley College Investment Office – Wellesley, MA.
Tom Steyer, Farallon Capital Management – San Francisco, CA
Dean Takahashi, Yale Investment Office – New Haven, CT.
While the centerpiece of the evening will be the financial panel, we’ve left ample time for mingling over food and drinks. The cost of the event is $100 per person. You may also invite a guest.
